Lyn Paolo, costume designer on the hit show “Scandal”, teams up with Gaspar Gloves to develop a limited edition capsule collection based on the styles in the show.

The collection consists of eight different styles that will be available from September, 2014, on Gaspar’s website; www.gaspargloves.com, and other online stores to be announced shortly.

Emmy® Award winning Costume Designer, Lyn Paolo, is the genius behind the impeccably dressed Olivia Pope on the ABC-TV hit television series “Scandal”- created by Shonda Rhimes and starring Kerry Washington. Her decision to bring gloves back into the fray stems from her passion for elegance and the value and importance of finely crafted fashion accessories. “”I have always had a passion for gloves and I adore everything that Dorothy creates, so this is a perfect creative match. I cannot wait to use the Gaspar creations on my upcoming projects.”

The collection consists of ten styles reflecting Lyn’s vision and inspirations based on her work as a costume designer. Among the styles in this collection, one has a butter-soft leopard suede lining that can be turned to form a versatile 2-in-1 accessory. Other styles include features such as; hand embroidery, Silk lining, and leather covered buttons. Using the finest Italian leather the gloves are European-made by the most experienced hands in the glove making craft.

“Olivia Pope, the main character in the SCANDAL series, is a powerful independent woman whose problem solving abilities are underpinned with her unrelenting style in fashion. She pushes the boundaries with a long forgotten accessory–gloves, that were once as much a part of a woman’s daily life as hats, scarves and afternoon tea.” says Tibor Balazs, Director of sales and marketing for Gaspar Gloves. “We are thrilled to be working with Lyn on this collection and beginning to see gloves entering mainstream fashion at an increased rate.”

Price points for the collection are from $175.00 – $320.00 are priced to be affordable and make great gifts.

Dorothy Gaspar, Hollywood’s A List glove maker for the past twenty-five years and founder of Gaspar Gloves, has an impressive portfolio when it comes to television and motion picture. She has produced gloves for close to a hundred feature films, and is no stranger to the fashion demands of this television series. She is exuberant about this collaboration to turn “fiction-fashion” into “reality-fashion”. She recently had an interview with the Costume Designer’s Guild, where she spoke about the amazing experience of seeing her gloves on-screen, and getting calls from viewers who want to know where these gloves are available.

This is a welcome development since this collaboration is the clearest signal that Hollywood is stepping over the line of entertainment, and into the realm of fashion, by setting new trends.
